Rudraksh – Pune’s first multi designer studio
While studying French literature and as an exchange student in Paris, Rasika was and still is impressed with the way the French women take their fashion sense seriously and are always well turned out! This thought in mind and the lack of availability of quality clothes and options available in the local market back then prompted her to start Pune’s first ever multi designer store Rudraksh in September 2008. Over the last 11 years, Rasika has enjoyed being the bridge between more than 250 known and lesser known designers and a loyal, growing client base within and outside of Pune. To an extent, she had to create a market where there was none, and to expand the little that existed. Hence also, she is regarded as a pioneer in the fashion retail space in Pune. Over the years, she has worked with so many different clients and body types, that in her words, her knowledge comes from a firm, hands on experience of what will work best for her client, given the price-value-need-availability matrix when the client comes shopping. Assisting the average woman turn out her best persona at an event, wedding or just in general, gives her and her team a sense of happy purpose and creative satisfaction.
Rudraksh has been recognised by many as one of the well-known and well curated stores in the country. The product mix has always been with an eye on product design & price value to the end client. In February 2014, Rudraksh went digital with its e-commerce store, www.studiorudraksh.com which now has been restructured. In July 2014, the first franchise at Vadodara was inaugurated and it operated for 4 years. Currently the store in Pune operates as a Studio and prides itself in being a go to place in Pune for both designers and clients alike! Agility to adapt to market scenarios has been a game changer for the business acumen that Rasika leads her business with as she stays true to the goals of a business and the purpose of it.
The studio handles styling, personal shopping, trousseau planning, corporate gifting assignments besides the monthly retail pop-ups that it organises.
