GIVING BACK : COMMISSIONING RESEARCH ON TEXTILE HISTORIES & MORE

The Vishwas & Anuradha Memorial (TVAM) Foundation was founded by me in memory of my late parents, Anuradha and Vishwas Mhalgi, in Dec 2018.

TVAM Foundation is working towards a positive and sustained, direct and indirect impact on livelihoods of textile and craft communities, by re-popularizing Deccan textiles. This is facilitated through research, documentation, archiving, and knowledge share with stakeholders and consumers. We explore the missing narratives. We also invite weavers to directly approach clients and grow their business prospects and understanding. We help them to market themselves and their craft better.

TVAM Foundation conceptualises and conducts multi-day ticketed events and webinars focused on textile & fashion content, with complimentary workshops and retail, celebrating textiles. With thought leaders like textile historians, revivalists, and weavers coming in to share perspectives with audiences, we engage in interesting and mindful conversations on conscious fashion. Till date, we have had three editions of The Fashion Narrative and engaged with more than 3000 people directly and indirectly.

THE FASHION NARRATIVE 2019

August 9th and 10th were envisioned as days where we conducted workshops, panel discussions, content plenaries, and retail. The guests and audience comprised clients of Rudraksh, social influencers from different fields, students, faculties, and interest groups.

THE FASHION NARRATIVE 2017

Celebrating the sentiment of the Independence month, we dedicated this event as homage to our grassroots. With dialogues with royalty, textile historians, revivalists, and weavers, from Aug 10-12, 2017, The Fashion Narrative was the first in the city of Pune to capture conscious fashion and communicate what it means. Both editions of The Fashion Narrative have been Rasika’s brain child.
